Targeted Advertising
I heard about how Google changes the home page (adds the Google Scholar link) if the page is being viewed from a university. So I thought I'd check out Google from one of my school's computers and not only did I see the Scholar link, but check this out:

Right above the copyright there's a link saying "Graduating? Come work with us." and it points to Google's recruitment page. Wow. Talk about targeted advertising.

I am accessing google now from a university (Harvard) so the ads are either targeted to particular universities (MIT?) or are not always presented.

Machines matching *.cs.wisc.edu have been getting these ads for over a year.
*.wisc.edu machines don't seem to get them.
